Here's how I think things are going to work in the short-term future:

CD reading and control routines will be separated out of vcdimager. In
doing this FreeBSD other OS, and CD-control support will be added.

This is really work done more in vcdimager rather than the xine VCD
plugin proper. In doing this all of the remaining additions to the
xine VCDImager code should be in vcdimager. This would be around the
0.7.15 release. At that time the code will be removed from the xine
vcd plugin and it's ready for inclusion into xine proper.

- PBC
  * unimplimented features remain:
      autowait/autopause - probably difficult
      multi-default
      command lists
      hot spots, region selections

  * Keyboard response seems sluggish - handling of stills slow

- Fix bug in that "quit" doesn't always quit but hangs in xine-lib.

- Display doesn't alway have title. May be related to above bug.

- Remove static my_vcd variable. ditto for in_still. Could this be related
  to the above bug?

- Have we properly delt with extended vs. non PSD's and LOT's?

- Move padding sector checks in from vcdplayer_read into vcdimager as
a read "mode". That will eliminate buffer copy and it this logic probably
  belongs there anyway.

Features/enhancements:

- Support for FreeBSD other OS's and other CD-ROM controls via...

- Separate cdio into library.

- support sensing/playing over multiple drives

- Autoselect PBC and move this to top of MRL list when PBC is more complete

- libtoolize fix auto-problems, and get rid of all of those warnings in
  building.

- Remove static. But would like a way to test for unresolved symbols.

- Subtitles and multiple languages:
Julio Snchez has a handle on this with his libspuogt.

vcdinfo/vcddump:

- opaque type for vcdinfo_obj
- document libvcdinfo

long-term:
- merge into xine
