1.3.12 - 3/10/02
-----------------
Thanks to Jason Carter cpu will now find an unused uid number for you. There
are three new config file options (that are documented in the man page) for
controlling this behavior. CPU will take a command line specified uid first,
then it will check password_file for that user, then it will attempt to
find a unique uid number by searching the directory up to id_max_passes times
for a number that is randomly generated and is between min_uidnumber and
max_uidnumber. Some bug fixes also in this release, minor stuff. Oh, also added
generation of a unique gid number when adding groups. The config file has
min_gidnumber and max_gidnumber, the defaults are 1000 and 6000 respectivly.
id_max_passes also affects the number of searches for groups. Added ability to
use syslog for a logging facility. Specify syslog::y in the config file.

1.3.11 - 2/15/02
-----------------
Lots of feature adds in this release. Got around to adding a group(add|del|mod)
function to cpu, for administering user groups. Added some new config file
options and changed a couple of others. Also finally got around to implementing
the -l and -n options for modifying a users dn (this also modifies their uid
which of course is their username, uidnumber is actually their uid). So the
following:
cpu usermod foo -l bar
Changes the users username from foo to bar, and changes their dn as well
cpu groupmod foo -l bar
Changes the group name from foo to bar, and changes the dn as well

1.3.10 - 2/10/02
-----------------
Finally implemented recursive adds and deletes for users home directories. Now
when you delete a users home directory cpu will descend into the directory and
recursively delete files. Works similarly for copying files from the skeldir
when a users home directory is created. That's the big feature for 1.3.10.
Other stuff includes lots of code cleanup, and that task will continue. Oh, and
no more def_file_perm in the config file. Now a stat() of the file in the skel
directory will give us the default file permissions.

1.3.9 - 2/5/02
---------------
I decided to not have an option for adding all the extra RFC2307 attributes.
The attributes that currently get added are listed in the README file. The
additional attributes that RFC2307 defines are /not/ needed for authentication.
The additional attributes are typical of devices and other entities, not user
entities. Things are getting pretty finalized.

I registered a site at sourceforge.net, which has a compile farm that will
allow me to test cpu on several different operating systems. This is a good
thing (tm). Check cpu.sourceforge.net for updates, the projects will be moving
there.
