To Install the driver,

- unpack the archive
- log in as "root"
- change to the installation directory lz11-V2
- and type

./lz11.install

The rest should be obvious

For all newer installations (CUPS), option (2) is recommended.
Never invoke option (1) and (3) in this case.

For some distributions that are shipped with the lz11
already installed, you might need to delete the file
"/usr/bin/lz11.foomatic"
manually, when option (5) fails

The installation script will (try to) automatically detect
the directory to place the PPD file into and remove conflicting
PPDs aswell. Usually you should not bother about that.

To rebuild the PPD database, the cups daemon has to be restarted.
Then you should configure the Z11 driver (e.g. with the
CUPS web interface on http://localhost:631/printers)

In KDE you can do this by just invoking "kups" as root
and setting up the printer inside kups.

Questions should be placed in the forum of

because they might be of general interest.
